(sixth half)

6. Landlocked Pirate dragon and Mermaid Encounter

(The band of pirates start tying the three to take away to their lair which is actually a landlocked camp instead of a ship.)

Baby Draco: Excuse me. Where are you taking us?


Pirate#1: Now we let our Pirate King decide your fate!

Saethrid: (mockingly) Oh I'm a knight! I don't care where we choose! My word is my bond and I break it whenever it pleases me!

Grindan: Oh I'm a sheltered princess who's never getting married, headed straight to a convent and I eat with my mouth open!

Saethrid: At least I need to breathe whenever I eat anything! Did I tell you that? Do you want me to die!?(stops) Wait what are pirates doing miles from the ocean?

Grindan: Um, am I missing something? where is the boat?

Dallin: I'll be asking the questions around here!

Grindan: You are the Pirate King?

Pirates: Arrrgh! Haha!


Dallin: Aye! Well I actually didn't have a prepared question so..

Grindan: But don't pirates have boats? You're on land and you're a dragon!

Pirate #2: LAND HO!

Dallin: Stop it! All you need to be a pirate, is to have a dark heart and total disregard for people's lives.

Pirate# 3: And swords!

Dallin: Of course swords that goes without saying everyone knows that pirates need swords!

Pirate# 4: A hook hand!

Pirate# 2: LAND HO!

Dallin: I said stop it!

Baby Draco: Huh?

Dallin: WAIT! Maybe it'll be easier to explain with a pirate shanty!



Pirate# 1: (excited) Oooh our Pirate King's gonna do a shanty! (the rest of the pirates line themselves with Dallin as the song starts)

Pirates: (sing) We're cruel and vicious pirate men,
As hard and tough as brass.
By far, the fearsomest buccaneers
To ever walk on grass.

Pirate #1: (to Grindan)We pillage here.
Pirate #2: (to Saethrid holding Draco)And plunder there.
Pirate #3: We rage from dusk till dawn.
Pirates: We hoist the anchor and swab the deck.

Dallin: Then gather for drinks on the lawn! (toasts a goblet with the other pirates)

Pirates: We're the lords of the sea.
Dallin: (in the middle)Except we aren't at sea.
Pirates: We're the lords of the sea.
Dallin: Just not of the actual sea.

Pirates: Arrgh!

Dallin: (taking Grindan and Saethrid with Draco)Now how we ended up here,
'Tis a dire and dreadful tale.
Pirate #1: (on Saethrid's side as Draco looks at him with a whimpering face)The kind to leave the meanest rogue
A-pukin' o'er the rail.
Pirate #2: (to Grindan)So fateful, so accursed.
Pirate #3: Such a stroke of evil luck.
Pirates: (point at a rocky hill)Our ship washed up on that thar hill.
Dallin: And, hey, I guess it's stuck.

Pirates: (dancing with punches)So now we hold the river here
By brutal, violent force.
Pirate #1: (holding his garden tools)We've also taken up gardening.
Pirate #2: Sustainably.
Pirate #3: Of course.
Pirates: (dance their gestures)We make you pay to cross this way
And squeeze ya till it hurts!
Dallin: (shows a tray of goodies to Saethrid and Draco)And on the side, we sell a line
Of homemade organic desserts. (Draco reached and quickly scoops up a dessert with his claw and tastes it with delight.)

Pirates: We're the lords of the sea.
Dallin: Though, technically, next to the sea.
Pirates: We're the lords of the sea,
Or sort of, of the sea! (End of song)

ARRRRGH!

Baby Draco: If all of you say your ship is stuck on a hill then why doesn't the Pirate King lift it up?

Pirates: (in unison and murmured) Oooooooooooooh!!

Dallin: (laughs) Aren't you a precious hatchling!?(clears) I'm technically too small to lift it up myself! And we also have a problem with cooperation!

Pirates: (in unison) AYE! Cooperation!

Baby Draco: (disappointed) Hmmm!

Grindan: Here I thought you were black hearted pirates!


Saethrid: More like pirates who don't do anything!!(snorts)

Baby Draco: You're right!(laughs)

Dallin: (mocks Saethrid and Draco's laughter in a whining cadence.) Hehehehehe oh aye we pirates who don't do nothin'! Why aren't ye so cute!??


Grindan: Oh for the love of-- Can't you just pull this ship off so you can set sail!? (to Dallin) What about those wings yours?

Dallin: Still too small!

Grindan: And fire breath??

Dallin:Errr.. It's not my skill!

Baby Draco: Not your skill? But don't we all dragons breathe fire??

Dallin: I wasn't even born with it! Well...maybe in a few hundred years! I don't know!! I lack practice and all!


Baby Draco: (fed up with Dallin's excuses, he breathes fire on one of the pirates firewood)

Pirates: (react in unison)Oooooooh!

Pirate# 1: That must be humilliating having a younger dragon than yourself breathing fire already!

Dallin: (amazed) By all the stars!!

Grindan: It seems the little one had it with your ridiculous excuses young dragon!

Dallin: The name is Dallin! Follow me all of you maggots!!

Pirate #1: It's been so long since ye called us "maggots" (the pirates agree)

Dallin: We're pulling that ship!


Cut to-

EXT-The viking ship on the hill(Togetherness pirate shanty reprise)

Grindan: (with Draco on his back before he flaps towards Dallin)

Baby Draco: (to Dallin who is using his wings and strength to help pull the ship with the pirates)You can do it. C'mon!

Dallin: Thanks for the motivation!

Pirates: (sing)We heave together,
Saethrid and Grindan: (sing)We ho together,
Baby Draco and the pirates: (sing)All working toe to toe together.
Pirate #1: Ahoy! Look out below together! (The ship slides)
Dallin: Run away! Run away!

Pirates: Now off together,
We'll cruise together.
With pirate stuff we'll use together.
Pirate #1: Guys, we should get tattoos together!
Pirates: Arrgh! (Saethrid facepalmed.)

And together, look what we can do.
Dallin: Together, we're one scurvy crew!
Grindan: Together, we're not bad.
Saethrid: It's true.
Baby Draco: My God, just get a room, you two.
All: Togetherness will see us through
To the end! (End of song)

Pirate# 2: LAND HO!

Baby Draco: (chuckles) "Land ho" indeed!


EXT- The trio's former campfire and carriage

Bargot: (the pict searches around the woods and finds Grindan and Saethrid's supplies)

Drust: (looks at Bargot) The missing southerners were here!

Uarad: Our queen will hear this.

(Fade out)

EXT-a cove- Nightfall

Saethrid: So not one of you has any idea how to get to Gaul!?

Dallin: I'm afraid not!

Grindan: Maybe we should have waited for the official boat to come pick the girl up!

Baby Draco: (in a longing pose gazing down at the water until he noticed a fin splashing and gasps. While everyone argues, his curiosity grows stronger and leaves the ship towards a grotto.)

Saethrid: (looks up at the light of the moon shining in the waters.)

EXT- The grotto

Baby Draco: (pants following the bubbling silhouette in the water and lights a fire from his nostrils to see in the dark) Ohh! (sings softly to himself very nervous and shaky)We heave together we ho together. We are in perfect sync together. Our voices--(gasps at the sight of a lovely fair haired maiden swimming towards him)Who are you?

First mermaid: (shows Draco her scaly tail that has beautiful shimmering fins but in the back reveals spikes and harder scales as his dragon scales. She smiles friendly at him.)

Baby Draco: A mermaid!! I've heard tales about your kind and how magnificent--can you talk too?

First Mermaid: Yes and are you a dragon?

Baby Draco: (dreamily)I am!

First Mermaid: Were you the one that sang?

Baby Draco: (quietly) yes! You are very beautiful!


First Mermaid: (smoothly bobbing towards Draco) Thank you! And I've never seen a dragon so small like you! Care to follow me? My sisters would gladly love your company! (points at a small raft as she sweetly begs)Come along!

Baby Draco: (turning his head back, feeling worried but gives in to the mermaid's invitation)Sure! (crawls to the raft and the mermaid pulls in gently to lead him to the farthest point of the watery grotto.)

First Mermaid: (hears Draco humming nervously)Oh don't be afraid! (gently)Keep singing!


Baby Draco: (sings) Come out ye pretty fair maids. Wherever you may be! Who love a jolly sailor who ploughs the raging sea. (vocalizes)

(Several mermaids emerge from underwater surrounding the hatchling with smiles. There were many of diverse features. Some of them had red, gold, blue and green tails all with hardened scales on their backs over their glittery soft ones. Even a few of them had horns coming out of their beautiful foreheads adorned with jewelry and pearls. Draco could see some with seashell armored breastplates and some covered with a seaweed like wrap covering their breasts. Their scales over their human halves glittered like tattoos.)

Red haired mermaid: Sit with us little friend!


Baby Draco: (sits in the middle between a group of enthusiastic mermaids)

Brunette Mermaid: Where do you come from may we ask??

First Mermaid: (rises to her rock gracefully to hear)

Horned black haired mermaid: Please do tell us!

Baby Draco: I come-- from the wall. South of the wall.

First Mermaid: (sultry)Ohh what else?

Baby Draco: Well I was raised on land, south of the wall until that life of comfort was taken away from me and went on this journey. A journey to reclaim honor!

First Mermaid: Impressive! What else do you claim to be?

Brunette Mermaid: (giggles)

Baby Draco: I am the high dashing--flyer who braved knights without honor! I protect helpless men and women of faith.

First Mermaid: Very lovely! Do go on!

Baby Draco: Pirate tamer?

First Mermaid: Oh now that is interesting!! And what about your human friends? Can you lead us to them?

Baby Draco: Huuuuumans? Oh they wouldn't like that!

First Mermaid: Oh I don't think so "pirate tamer"!


Baby Draco: No?

First Mermaid: My sisters believe they sent you here to do their dirty work while they skulk about outside!

Baby Draco: That's not true!

Brunette Mermaid: But it is! We have seen what your kind does to ours as they fly away to tear apart!

Horned mermaid: Yes! Fish eaters!

Baby Draco: What? No! They certainly wouldn't harm such great loveliness!

First Mermaid: Such nice manners for a dragon as yourself!

(Another mermaid hides shyly from the rest overhearing them continue talking to the hatchling.)

Baby Draco: Out there on land, there are knights who uphold the Old Code. A code of honor and right!

Amphitrite: (a blue tailed mermaid slowly swims near when she hears about the Code)

First Mermaid: (about to hiss at Amphitrite but couldn't as she turned her head back to Draco) Really little one?? Are you so sure?? "His might upholds the weak, His words speak only truth"??

Baby Draco: You do know about it!

First Mermaid: Of course and still they have corrupted hearts and drive themselves mad!! Humans aren't capable of real repentance!

Baby Draco: (pants nervously)Very well. Thank you for telling me that. I'm really sorry pretty ladies but I really should be going!

First Mermaid: Go? Go?? My sisters were loving your company but we cannot deny something brought to us once it enters our lair!

Amphitrite: (whispered)Please don't do this!

Red Haired Mermaid: (sings)

First Mermaid: So tell us dragon! How do you choose?(bares sharp fangs as her beautiful face turns more dragonlike and gives a hissing scream. The others except Amphitrite morph their halves into monsters to attack Draco.)

Baby Draco: (frightened, starts running to the rocks)


Mermaids: (roar and screech while leaping into the water to chase Draco)

Baby Draco: (runs desperately until he reached the outside and towards the ship)

EXT-the ship

Grindan: (angry at a pirate )And to top it all off, our hatchling ran away!

Baby Draco: (screaming) GRINDAN! SAETHRID! HELP! THEY'RE COMING!


Grindan: WHERE THE BLAZES HAVE YOU BEEN!??

Saethrid: (sees Draco flap quickly to her) What is it?

Baby Draco: It's mermaids! They're after me!

Saethrid: Mermaids?? There's no such thing!!

Baby Draco: (glares) You look at me and I'm no such thing!? We have to get off the ship NOW!

Saethrid: We can't leave just--

Grindan: Will you two calm yourselves?? (A loud bump is felt in the ship)What the hell was that?

Saethrid: A quake?

Baby Draco: That wasn't any quake! It's them!

Pirates: (yell to attack)

Dallin: Alright lads IT HAS BEGUN!

Pirate #1: Bring out the swords!

First Mermaid: (in her giant monster form calls out her sisters to fight)MEAT! (screeches)

Red Haired Mermaid: (also in her seadragon form) ATTACK!

Grindan: (to Draco while Saethrid lowers a rowboat) Didn't your mother ever tell you not to talk to strangers??

Baby Draco: I have no mother!!

Saethrid: Enough! We must make for the other side of the shore! God help us.

Grindan: (starts rowing)

Dallin: (to the pirates) AVOID THEIR CLAWS! THEY'LL DRAG YE TO THE DEPTHS! RELEASE THE NETS!


Meanwhile, the Picts watched the mayhem over the cliffs.

EXT- the shore

Pirate#1: We have to drive them back to the water!!

Dallin: We need FIRE!!

Pirate#2: BREATHE ON THEM CAPTAIN!!

Dallin: AYE THAT BE TRUE! (Dallin finally blows a shot of fire at the mermaids who start fleeing back quick into the water.)

(On the rowboat, Grindan Saethrid and Draco were seeing how the water was finally still.)

Grindan: Are they gone?

Baby Draco: (peers over the water with Saethrid until they felt a sudden bump that made them scream)AAH!

Saethrid: (screams) START ROWING!

Grindan: (is grabbed by one mermaid and falls into the water. He swims quickly back to climb into the boat to row.)

Baby Draco: FASTER!!(another group of mermaids kick the boat which makes the hatchling fall along with them dragging him violently underwater. He struggles with their webbed claws swarming around him and uses his wings and tail to hit them to break free and swim to the surface. He inhales desperately and coughed while looking for the boat and finally sees Grindan's hand.)

Grindan: COME ON!(pulls Draco to the boat.)

The mermaids kept leaping forward for Dallin and the pirates til he makes a decision to light up the ship and evacuate his crew before they could get in. It exploded thus scaring them away from the blast.  The blast also tipped the rowboat over sending Grindan, Saethrid and Draco falling overboard. Then the First Mermaid in her dragon form screeched in anger at her sisters until Amphitrite rose up roaring at them to stop fighting.

Dallin: (chuckles nervously) She finally comes!

Pirate #1: Did all of you see that??

Red Haired Mermaid: (back to her beautiful form to slap a few pirates and screech at Dallin before leaving)

Grindan: Is everyone alright??

Pirates: Aye!

Baby Draco: Alright! (coughs)

Saethrid: (drenched while walking to shore) I will not be doing this again!


Baby Draco: Me neither! (collapsed in the sand.)

Saethrid: (carries him.) Oh dear!


Grindan: (looks at the hatchling's scraped sides. They were bloody but sealed by salt water.) They hurt you!

Baby Draco: Yeah! Those ladies were scratchy indeed!(begins to cough)

Saethrid: (alarmed) This is not sounding good my little one!

Grindan: Maybe you swallowed too much seawater!

Dallin: (concerned)I think the wee firecracker is sick! (calls out the pirates) RETREAT TO YER CAMP SCURVY DOGS! (proceeds to carry Draco) I'll be takin' ye back to where we caught ye!(sighs)


EXT--the carriage--Morning.

Dallin: (checks Draco's scaly forehead) He's beginning to feel...feverish! I have to seek my brethren of the Council to treat him!

Saethrid: You mean you can't do it alone?

Dallin: I have to be swift now and find them!

Saethrid: Make haste!! (sees Dallin fly off. Then tends to Draco.) Poor baby! Grindan will be back soon too!

Baby Draco: (groans) How could have I--

Saethrid: (calm)Shhh. It's all past!

Baby Draco: Now are we finally safe?

Saethrid: Yes.

(All of a sudden, a claw with three talons busted through the carriage top and we see young Draco and Saethrid screaming a blood curdling scream from the attacker's view.)
